New York City native, Greek-American writer & disability rights advocate

Despina’s writing and blog embody the intersection of her identities as a disabled woman & first gen American. She was born and raised in Queens in the NYC public school system and has been an active member of the disabled community, and thus hopes an audience of both non-disabled and disabled readers can find solace in her stories of community, marginalization, advocacy, and learning how to make sense of navigating the world while sitting down.

She works a day job as a graduate student, where she goes by her American name.
